When you take a good look at our society today, you will find out that many people have misrepresented and misinterpreted the purpose and mission of Christ on this earth.
Let's study Luke 4:18-19 very well we will find out Jesus' mission on the earth, right here his mission was defined and made known:
1) To the Poor
2) To the Broken-Hearted
3) To the Captives (people who are held captive in their minds by thoughts of limitations, bad habits, and any kind of captivity)
4) To the Blind
5) To the Bruised/Injured
Jesus wasn't preaching or performing signs and wonders to become popular and famous, or for him to gain relevance. NO!
You see Jesus' mission, and Christians are to followers of Jesus, the bible says "looking unto Jesus"( Hebrew 12:2).
Jesus has laid the foundation and we are to follow after his steps, Jesus is our perfect example.
Read (John 13:15).
Many a times we saw how he was moved with compassion to feed the congregation not just with "spiritual food"(word of God or Good news) but also "physical food". Isn't that wonderful?
You saw how he delivered those that were oppressed and possessed by the demons, he felt the pains of the captives and he galvanized into righteous actions, the signs and wonders that God wrought through him was not just because he was the son of the most high, but because of the heart he had for people, he couldn't watch people suffer, he was moved to act, to change their situations and their atmosphere.
He wasn't comfortable with sufferings, oppressions and hardship that people where going through. Likewise the Apostles after the death of Jesus, they did as they saw Jesus do, those who had landed properties sold them and gave to the poor .The apostles of this generation take from the poor and add to their abundance, so that the poor can be blessed. Hmmm
You see many ministers are into ministry today for the wrong reasons:
1) some of them are into ministry because their friends are into ministry.
2) some are into ministry because they want to be respected by people, if a member offends them at any point, they will place curses on that person instead of interceding for the member that offended them.
Such Ministers wish evil happens to anyone that has wronged them. I have met one or two of them.
3) without doubt, there are those who are into ministry because they want to people to sow seeds into their lives, I met one June 5 2014, they see ministry as a means of earning a living, they go about prophesying and extorting money from people.
It might interest you to know that many people are going to church for some funny reason. There are many wrong reasons why many people have Joined the Christian faith, many of them are not in Church because they want to know God.
1) Some see God as the problem solver, therefore they only come to God when they encounter a problem, they remember church when they are struck with problem, they are not interested in affecting others. Once their problem is solved, their commitment to church is affected, they start developing beautiful excuses for missing evangelism.
2) There are others who are in church because they are afraid of Witches, this class of people suspect everybody and everything even wall geckos and cockroaches .
3)There are others who go to church Just to show off.
They have bought new dress and they want people to admire it, such people often come late to church to distract others, they have make up kit in their hand bags and so on.
4) What about those who are in church because they are in search for a life partner?
All i am saying in essence, is that many people have deviated from the truth aim of Christianity.
Both ministers and Non-ministers are going about their own business and have left the oppressed to remain oppressed which is not supposed to be so.

Matt 25:31-46
31-33"When he finally arrives, blazing in beauty and all his angels with him, the Son of Man will take his place on his glorious throne. Then all the nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his left.
34-36"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what's coming to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the world's foundation. And here's why:
I was hungry and you fed me,
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.'
37-40"Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.'
41-43"Then he will turn to the 'goats,' the ones on his left, and say, 'Get out, worthless goats! You're good for nothing but the fires of hell. And why? Because—
I was hungry and you gave me no meal,
I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
I was homeless and you gave me no bed,
I was shivering and you gave me no clothes,
Sick and in prison, and you never visited.'
44"Then those 'goats' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or homeless or shivering or sick or in prison and didn't help?'
45"He will answer them, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you failed to do one of these things to someone who was being overlooked or ignored, that was me—you failed to do it to me.'
46"Then those 'goats' will be herded to their eternal doom, but the 'sheep' to their eternal reward."
